Turning a Spare Room in Kesgrave Into an Office
Orwell Carpentry, a carpentry and building company based in Ipswich, covers fitted home offices in Kesgrave and elsewhere in Suffolk, Essex and the surrounding areas. Orwell Carpentry designs and fits home offices, planning the desk and the storage together so garden office Colchester the room works as one, and uses understairs space the same way.
What makes a fitted home office work?
Orwell Carpentry creates fitted home offices shaped around the room and how you work. Desks and storage are designed together so nothing fights for the same wall. The same thinking turns understairs space into useful cupboards.
A freestanding desk leaves dead space round it that fills up with clutter. Built in furniture uses the whole wall, edge to edge. Plan for sockets, lights and cables early, while the drawing is still a drawing.
How can I find a good carpenter?
Ask locally, look at photographs of finished projects, read what previous customers say, and get a written quote before anything starts. Orwell Carpentry publishes its finished projects, from garden rooms to staircases, and quotes free of charge.
Can a TV be built into the wall of a Kesgrave living room?
It is a framed false wall that takes the TV, hides the wiring and adds storage. Orwell Carpentry designs and builds media walls, and cinema rooms too, and can set the TV into the wall provided a sufficient ventilation gap is left around it.
Moving sockets and adding lighting is part of most media walls, and for that Orwell Carpentry works closely with local electrical subcontractors. A rough sketch on site and a CAD drawing afterwards show the layout before building starts.
Can you stay at home during a renovation in Kesgrave?
Building and renovation experience at Orwell Carpentry adds up to more than 30 years combined. A small project such as a bathroom might take a couple of weeks, while a whole house can take several months. Size, materials and extent set the cost, which is quoted after seeing the property.
It is often possible to stay put, depending on the scale, although a big whole house job may be easier to live away from. That is settled at the planning stage rather than halfway through.
